Job Description:

Wilshire Avenue Community Church, a dynamic and growing church in downtown Fullerton, seeks to fill a full-time position responsible for overseeing all aspects of student ministries 7th-12th grades.

 

Qualifications

The youth pastor must have a love for God, a love for teenagers, a willingness to work as part of a team, and a pastoral heart that encourages youth to grow in their relationship with Christ.  In additiona, the following are required:

 

Relevant:

* An understanding of current youth ministry trends and youth culture
* Ability to commumicate well with youth and parents
* Relate to the unique needs of teenagers
 
Team Builder:
* Commitment to team approach to ministry
* Recruit, train,and mobilize an adult ministry team for the youth ministry
* Ability to build and train a team of student leaders
 
Outreach Oriented:
* Have a heart for lost kids
* Initiate an outreach plan for local junior high and senior high campuses
* Plan and lead mission trips/opportunities for youth both locally and globally
 
General:
* Minimum 3 years experience
* Self-starter and ability to work without direct supervision
* Ability to work in coordination with Church's ministry goals and work within a team concept with the rest of church staff
