General Description of Duties
The Worship Director is primarily responsible to design & direct the weekly worship experience,
and special events, utilizing both music & multi-media to create a setting that speaks to the hearts &
minds of those attending SBCC.
To oversee the selection and arrangement of music for Sunday services & special events.
To recruit and develop a praise team of multiple instruments.
To select and develop new vocalists.
To provide oversight & administrate the tech and sound ministry teams.
To collaborate with the teaching team in integrating selected music and special music to
enhance the worship service.
To maintain a database of songs played for CCLI.
To participate regularly with creative team in planning thru teaching themes.
To meet regularly as a staff member with pastoral team to discuss church & service matters.
Maintains musical & a/v equipment and appearance of the stage.
Vibrant, growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Love for people and desire to draw them nearer to Christ.
Willingness to pursue excellence in all areas under their supervision.
Proficient in vocal or musical ability.
Ability to lead and administrate teams of people.
Knowledge of worship music and ability to plan services in a creative & meaningful manner.
Ability to engage congregation in their 5 senses to worship the Risen Christ.
Willingness to grow personally & professionally.
Relates to the senior pastor on matters of worship & employment.
Relates to personnel team on matters pertaining to employment.
Model an exemplary Christian life as set forth in I Timothy 4:6-16 & Galatians 5:16-26
Participate in SBCC events apart from Sunday morning.
Loyalty to the leadership and direction of SBCC.
Adherence to the doctrinal statement and core values of SBCC.
Participate in a small group of Christ followers.
