Given the new state-of-the-art contemporary worship facility to seat 600-plus upon completion in the Spring of 2009 and our beautiful historic sanctuary which seats 400-plus, our prayers are that the successful candidate will contribute to realizing, implementing, and actualizing the church's vision for corporate worship.

ABOUT OUR CHURCH: First Presbyterian Church of Norfolk, Virginia, a body of believers in Jesus Christ, is located in the urban setting of Norfolk VA in the beautiful historic section of Ghent, just minutes away from a vibrant redeveloped downtown area. We are an 1800 plus body who seek to be a community of believers which nurtures the spiritual growth and maturity of its members to the glory of our Lord. We are committed to sharing the gospel, and we demonstrate Christ's love to one another and our community through a diversity of ministries. This focus is best exemplified in our creed, "Seeking Christ; Sharing His Love." We provide three dynamic and Christ-centered worship services each Sunday (traditional and contemporary). God has blessed us and we have outgrown our current space to accommodate our members for our contemporary worship. It is exciting to see our congregation grow (both spiritually and numerically) as we focus on God’s Word faithfully preached and our commitment to obedient living in Jesus Christ. We are currently undergoing a capital building campaign, “Growing in His love,” to accommodate our growth. We have broken ground and have started renovating and building a state-of-the-art contemporary worship facility.

We seek to discern the will of the Holy Spirit as we move into an exciting future to provide a dynamic and powerful atmosphere for our contemporary congregational worship.
