Senior Pastor Job Description
Non-Denominational Christian Church
Christ’s Church of Prescott Valley is a new church plant with approximately 50 – 60 members. We reside in a completed church building, with a sanctuary and separate youth areas. The sanctuary can accommodate up to 80 people and we are currently running
two services. We have a functioning music team with a paid music director and we also have a volunteer director of youth. We also have a complete Board of Trustees and a group of 3 elders and 2 deacons.
We are searching for a Senior Pastor with at least 3-5 years of pastoral experience. We would like him to have a Seminary or Bible College degree.
The Senior Pastor is to preach and teach for Sunday morning services and the Wednesday bible studies though he may delegate the teaching portion of that study.
The Senior Pastor is to work with the Worship Team leader in preparing appropriate worship services. These services should be well prepared, honoring to the Lord, and in a form that is most suitable for the congregation.
The pastor is to be available and willing to perform weddings, funerals and baptisms as needed.
The Senior Pastor must be willing and able to work within an elder led style of church government as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
The Senior Pastor, along with the oversight of the elders will be responsible for all matters concerning church staff and ministry leaders and ensure that all staff, pastoral and otherwise, fulfill the requirements of their job description.
The Senior Pastor will work with the elders, deacons and leaders in casting vision for the church and strategically setting and executing goals in line with the purpose and direction of Christ’s Church of Prescott Valley.
Our new Senior Pastor must have a bold style of preaching that is meant to challenge, motivate, inspire, and encourage others in their personal relationship with our Lord.
The Senior Pastor must continue to train and develop elders. We believe that God is preparing a Senior Pastor for CCPV who is a humble servant leader with vision and passion for people and the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the local church. He will need
to be strong in communication skills (both in the pulpit and inter-personally), with a desire to develop new leaders within the body, a heart for personal evangelism and outreach, and the ability to inspire others to walk more deeply with our Lord. (Ephesians
