Job Description:

Fox Valley Church ( is a growing church in West Dundee with 3 services on Sunday mornings and plans for a multi site launch this year. Worship is central to all we do as we follow Jesus and reach out to others.  Our vision for worship is to be a humbling, life-transforming encounter with a holy God through clear teaching of the Word, engaged worship, prayer and deepening spiritual relationships.


Title:  Worship Ministry Director 


Purpose of Position:  The Worship Director will provide strong, godly leadership to help fulfill FVC’s vision for worship.


Note:   The principal function of this role is the ministry of equipping God’s people for works of service in the worship ministry so the body can be built up (Ephesians 4:11-12).  The ministry of equipping begins with a heart shaped by the Word and prayer in relationship with the Holy Spirit and secondarily a ministry of leadership and management/oversight of the worship ministry.


Scope of Responsibilities

a. Lead worship and model strong worship leading that helps people encounter God.

b. Develop, equip and lead worship team leaders for all scheduled worship and events.

c. Work through and with leaders to recruit, train, select and supervise all those needed for fully-staffed,

    fully-functioning teams that help the entire body encounter God in each service.

d. Provide godly servant leadership for the worship planning process, working with the teams to

    regularly produce high quality dynamic, authentic worship in all locations that is consistent with our

    worship philosophy and vision.

e. Develop new creative worship sets and services that generate freshness and impact through

    engagement and intimacy.

f.  Develop a quarterly plan for worship services that strengthens the preaching series and celebrates

    seasons in order to bring a stronger worship element to FVC.

g. Oversee the weekly service coordination and practice process necessary to ensure the

     implementation of the worship plan for all services, regular and special.

h. Participate in a system of regular evaluation of the effectiveness of worship ministry.


Working Relationships

a.   Reports to Executive Director of FVC.

b.   Works closely with Senior Pastor

c.   Relates to other Teaching Pastors and Site Leaders

d.   Relates to Worship Service Teams
