Job Description:
Gardendale- Mt. Vernon United Methodist is currently searching for a Director of Student and Young Adult ministries. Gardendale-Mt. Vernon, located just north of Birmingham, Alabama, is a growing church with 750 in three different styles of Sunday morning worship services. The majority of youth come from three public High Schools and one Private. The church has a growing Young Adult ministry and one of the best children’s ministries in the area. We are looking for someone who will implement our churches vision with youth and young adults – “Growing more fully committed disciples of Jesus Christ.” The person will find a committed Youth Ministry Team and Young Adult Ministry Team with which to serve. A love for Jesus Christ and a sense of calling to student ministry is vital. At least two years leading a growing student ministry is required along with a Baccalaureate Degree. Candidate must possess understanding and passion for worship, discipleship, mission, and outreach. Candidate should also possess a capacity for visionary team building and equipping for the sake of effective ministry.
