Job Description:
Director Of Teen Ministries

The Christian Youth Center For A Job Description
Joliet, Illinois (Southwest of Chicago)

We are not a church. We are a 50 year old, non-denominational, regional youth and children’s ministry. We have for five decades supported the local church and community through youth ministries, youth sports, school Bible clubs, day camps, after-school programs, and much, much more.

We are seeking a full-time Director of Teen Ministries that…

1. Has a strong commitment to Christ,
2. Has a passion for working with, and reaching Jr. & Sr. High youth,
3. Is a dynamic, creative, self-starter, with strong communication and organizational skills,
4. Has the wisdom and experience as it relates to the present youth culture,
5. Has a team spirit, and
6. Has the ability to network with youth leaders, pastors, and other community leaders.

This person will be central to achieving the organization’s goal to lead a coalition of churches, youth ministries, and youth organizations in order to reach 100,000 plus lost teenagers for Christ. A Christian or Bible college degree and experience is preferred. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience.

Applications should include a professional resume, three letters of recommendation, a statement of belief, a philosophy of teen ministry, a picture, a description of your family (if applicable) and a DVD or CD of a lecture, sermon, or talk. Also we need a short essay answering the following questions:

Dobson, Barna, McDowell, and Luce recently have pointed out the statistic that 4 out of 5 born-again teens are leaving the church community post graduation. After years in the church and youth groups, only 1 out of 5 are staying connected to a church after high school. Why is this happening? And what can you and the local church do to turn this trend around?

Candidate must be willing to live within reasonable driving distance of Joliet, Illinois. A background check will be required once a candidate reaches a later stage in the process. Information can be sent to:
