Church Demographics: Approximately 2500 adherents; LFA has a Spanish ministry that contains approx. 300 adherents and a new satellite church plant that currently averages 85 people.
Position Available: Creative Arts Pastor
Educational/Ministerial Requirements: Ministerial License from the Assemblies of God, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and at least two years of experience in Worship/Music Ministry preferred.
Job Description: The Creative Arts Pastor is responsible to administer and develop all aspects of the Creative Arts Department of Lufkin First Assembly. He/she is to be a spiritual example, mentor and leader to musicians, vocalists, worship teams, band members, choir members and all other Creative Arts volunteers and leaders. He/she directs and organizes weekly worship services in addition to special productions to include rehearsals, lighting, sound, recruiting and training drama and skit teams, selecting, arranging and/or composing and choreographing music and writing new dramas/skits/sketches as needed. He/she works closely with the Senior Pastor to determine the flow, key and musical theme of each worship service and special event. The Creative Arts Pastor must play an instrument, preferably the keyboard or guitar, and be able to lead worship from that instrument. He/she needs to have knowledge of Theatre Arts (i.e. direct cast, write a play, coordinate and lead a large production). Although Lufkin First Assembly's worship style is contemporary and progressive, a working knowledge of traditional forms of worship, such as hymns, is desired. He/she must be able to effectively manage and maintain a departmental budget and work well with other pastor's on a daily basis. The Creative Arts Pastor should be familiar with the Assemblies of God Fine Arts Program and must have a capability to work with youth as well. He/she needs to be able to work well with others as a team, effectively influence and lead volunteers (i.e. band, worship team, choir, dance team, drama team, etc.) and fully support the vision of the Senior Leadership.
Salary Range/Benefits: The salary for the Creative Arts Pastor will be discussed during the interview process and will depend on the applicant's experience and education. Benefits for this position include four weeks of paid vacation, one week of paid sick leave, three personal days, a traveling paid birthday holiday, a week + paid vacation at Christmas, other paid holidays and paid health insurance.
