To provide overall leadership and direction to the small groups ministry of Sandals Church. To represent the church-wide cause of community on the management team.
Maintain a high adult assimilation rate (45 - 60%).
Maintain appropriate minister to small group leader ratios and member to leader ratios.
Ensure the church has a smooth, successful, and highly functioning small group intake process, along with new leader and new minister development process.
Have successful relationships with the management team, small group ministers, small group leaders, other ministry leaders, and paid staff.
Fulfill assigned management team projects in a timely and professional manner.
Serve as a pastor and problem-solver to the people of Sandals Church, especially to those in groups.
Recruit, motivate, train, and lead small group ministers, leaders, and coordinators.
Provide leadership and direction to the group employees, ministers, leaders, and members.
Design and supervise group systems that support the execution of the vision of Sandals Church.
Select high quality materials for groups that will facilitate both authentic relationships and spiritual growth toward Christ-likeness.
Fulfill assignments from the lead Pastor and management team.
This position is a management team member that reports to the Director of Operations.
This position ensures and is responsible for the leadership and direction for all the adult small groups of Sandals Church.
This position may supervise several employees, including leadership development minister, groups assistant, and group coordinators.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and the ability to live out the vision of “Being real with ourselves, others, and God.”
3 years or more small group leadership experience is required.
Experience in a church with 50 plus groups is required. The highly qualified candidate will have experience with more than 100 groups. It is expected that this position will take Sandals Church to at least 250 groups.
The ability to provide leadership in the following areas: spiritual leadership, small group skills, soul care, biblical theology, public speaking, and public prayer.
A college degree is required, including at least or the equivalent of a minor in biblical or Christian studies. The highly qualified candidate will have an undergraduate or graduate Theological or Psychological degree.
Work hours include evenings and Sundays.
