Job Description:
The Associate Manager will be responsible for supporting the mission and vision of the organization by working to develop opportunities to ensure Guideposts is a leader in the area of prayer services.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
-Management of staff, including teambuilding, establishing goals and objectives, performance evaluations
-Oversee volunteer recruitment, retention and recognition
-Lead, motivate and direct staff and volunteers to fulfill vision and mission of prayer ministry
-Manage and expand current prayer programs
-Continually assess Web and Phone systems used for prayer ministry
-Oversee the expansion of the Web prayer program
-Manage reporting of prayer ministry programs
-Assess needs, analyze data and develop action plans
-Responsible for staff and volunteer training.
-Work with department manager to develop and manage the budget.
-Advocate Guideposts’ Outreach mission, including Prayer, Publication Services and Knit for Kids at every opportunity, both internally and externally.
-Create and maintain partnerships with internal groups to ensure the success of the Prayer Ministry.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5 plus years experience in management and volunteer management. The successful candidate must have a passion for prayer and outreach, as well as Guideposts’ mission. Excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent presentation skills to speak in front of large and small groups, outstanding organizational and networking skills. Some technical knowledge – or ability to learn and understand - IVR system and Web Prayer System. Must be able to engender trust, embody the ideals of the organization, and an enthusiastic team player. Proficient PC skills - Excel, Word, Access PowerPoint and Outlook.
