Job Description:
The Pastor/Director is responsible for the ministry to children from birth through 5th grade and to their families. The primary objective is to build a ministry Team to evangelize and disciple children and to be a resource and minister to parents and families in order to assist families in developing Christian homes
1.Bachelors degree or higher, preferably in Children’s Ministry, Christian Education and/or seeking or willing to pursue a seminary degree
2.Consistently submits to God and allows him to use, stretch, and lead on a daily basis
3.Has three or more years experience and passion for directing/leading a relational children’s ministry
4.Understands relational ministry; must relate well to children and their families
5.Passion, vision and ability to see kids (ages birth through grade five) come to know, love and follow Jesus Christ; committed to evangelism and discipleship; can lead a child to Christ and is interested ensuring their growth afterwards
6.Has a useful and balanced understanding of the Bible with an ability to teach and apply the Bible in a relevant, creative, and fun ways to children
7.Is a Team player; embraces the Team ministry model and has proven ability to train and equip adult leaders, who in-turn will train others
8.Is a visionary; sees who children can be in Christ and not just who they are today; can provide and carry out a vision for Children’s Ministry
9.A servant leader; takes initiative to see what needs to be done and makes sure it gets done
10.Has a desire to grow in ministry/pastoral role
11.Desired spiritual gifts: teaching, encouragement, leadership, and administration
12.Supportive of the Constitution and Bylaws of Bethany Evangelical Free Church

1.Provide and communicate philosophy, vision, and goals of the ministry to parents, children, and volunteers
2.Train and equip all Children’s Ministry Team Leaders
3.Oversee the selection, evaluation, and creation of curriculum as it applies to Children’s Ministries
4.Coordinate and maintain the yearly program and calendar, including Sunday mornings, Awana, ministry Teams, all annual and special events, fellowship, evangelism, and discipleship
5.Minister to families with children including: parent training, teaching, counseling, and resourcing
6.Oversee the budget and facilities for Children’s Ministries, in cooperation with the Director of Church Administration
7.Walk in deep intimacy with Jesus Christ

1.Reports to the Senior Pastor
2.Provides leadership to all paid Children’s Ministry staff and all Children’s Ministry Teammates
