Job Description:

To establish, organize, and operate a comprehensive local missions ministry that maximizes life change and functions in alignment with the overall mission, vision and values of MCC. 



v  Determine and monitor the most significant needs of the local community to help guide the priorities of local missional initiatives

v  Lead the development of a comprehensive strategy and plan for missional opportunities and lifestyles in the greater Cincinnati area, typically partnering with other churches and ministries

v  Recruit, train, and equip, both spiritually and tactically, missions ministry staff and lay leaders and volunteers

v  Effectively communicate the missions ministry vision and mission opportunities to the church body

v  Encourage and inspire congregational involvement in mission projects and missional living

v  Ensure most missional initiatives have an evangelistic emphasis and are focused on long term relationships

v  Facilitate and/or participate in missional initiatives as needed

v  Develop, communicate and implement performance expectations and appropriate accountability processes for missions ministry staff to accomplish missional goals

v  Annually provide input and assist with the creation of operating and capital budgets which are fully integrated with the church’s mission, vision, and strategies

v  In the spirit of stewardship, manage labor and spending within approved budgeted parameters and monitor spending at least monthly

v  Understand and operate within church policies and processes regarding all financial transactions of the church

v  Foster high levels of cooperation and effectively work in a team environment(s) with quality relationships and respect of each member’s giftedness and unique abilities

v  Other duties as assigned

Performance Expectations:

v  Increase congregational engagement and participation in missional opportunities and lifestyle

v  Demonstrate impact through changed lives of individuals being served

v  Create partnerships with likeminded ministries and leaders



v  Bachelor’s Degree required

 v  Passion and knowledge of evangelism skills and community development

v  Experience in missional ministries preferred

v  Team building, strong organization and self-initiative, follow-through, task orientation, ability to “see the big picture”, empowerment and leadership skills

v  Proven ability to develop a strong network of ministries to accomplish missional goals

v  Ability to create a positive and intentional leadership culture

v  Ability to work with a teachable heart, good attitude and unified spirit
