Job Description:

McKinney Church Middle School Pastor

The Church

McKinney Church exists to develop Christ-centered people who make a difference.  We are a congregation in the southwest Fort Worth area that desires to impact the 40,000 unchurched people who live within five miles of our campus.  Within our Student Ministry, we represent over 25 different schools in the Greater Fort Worth area.  We love God and his Church, and pray daily that we honor him as we live out our salvation.

The Ministry

When McKinney Church was planted in the mid-1900s, the desire was to take the Gospel to the neighborhoods immediately surrounding the church.  That desire still holds true today, though our methods may be shifting.  We want to be about moving, not just meeting.  We want to provide families the best opportunity to grow together.  And we want to see the Gospel spread and transform lives throughout Fort Worth.

The Position

The Middle School (MS) Pastor is responsible for taking the mission and vision of McKinney Church and, in partnership with the Student Ministry (SM) Team, will prayerfully decide and plan out what that will look like for a MS student.  The Middle School Pastor will:

  1. Direct the overall planning of the MS ministry.
  2. Direct the implementing of the MS ministry.
  3. Plan and oversee MS ministry budget.
  4. Partner with the SM team in the support of MS parents and volunteers.
  5. Participate in all SM staff training and community-building events.
  6. Oversee and mentor two part-time MS interns.
  7. Support other SM and McKinney Church staff as needed.

The Candidate

This candidate will most likely have been employed in youth ministry full-time for at least three years.  They also will most likely have been leading a ministry of at least fifty students.  This candidate will have a heart for Youth Ministry, specifically Middle School students and their parents.  This candidate will most likely be married, though not required.  They will most likely have a Bachelor’s degree, though not required.

The Details

This is a full-time salaried position, commensurate with experience and life stage.  Family health insurance, along with other specific benefits, is also included.

The Process

If you are interested in this position, please email McKinney’s Student Pastor, Caleb Smith, at csmith@mckinneychurch.com.  Include a brief description of yourself and your reason for a transition, along with your resume, a recent photo of you (and your family, if applicable), and any other information you think is important for us to have in an initial contact.  We will not accept phone calls pertaining to this position.
