Church Profile: Life Way Fellowship is a small congregation of loving, friendly believers, who have, until recently, been somewhat inwardly focused. After self evaluation, we recently revised our mission statement to reflect the hearts of the people here to "Share Christ, Strengthen Believers, and Serve Others." We are regretfully in a position to have to say goodbye to our beloved pastor as he journeys with his wife to serve in New Mexico as a Missionary. We welcome the changes God has in store for us, as well as the man God has for us as our future pastor. We pray that our future pastor would be one who would walk along side this congregation and help us implement these aspired goals that have now become our mission statement.
Primary Function: The senior pastor will be expected to provide leadership that equips the church to carry out five major functions including: evangelism, discipleship, ministry, fellowship, and worship as it fulfills the Great Commission.
Expectations: Life Way Fellowship is seeking a pastor who will be a servant leader that will live an exemplary life modeling the call, character, and competencies that a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ should. The pastor should demonstrate a servant spirit as a growing disciple of Jesus Christ, assisting others to grow as well.
We expect the pastor to be one who emphasizes the importance of lifestyle witnessing. He should be a person with a leadership vision and a well- developed vision for the future of the church. We are seeking a gifted teacher who enables persons to learn and understand deep spiritual truths.
Non-Negotiable Doctrinal and SBC Commitments:
The candidate for the office of Senior Pastor must fully endorse the 2000 Baptist Faith & Message Statement and be committed to supporting the mission endeavors of the Southern Baptist Convention in its National, International, State, and Associational expressions.
Minimum Maturity requirements:
The candidate for the office of Senior Pastor must be a stable, mature, Christian, as stated in 1 Timothy 3, that has demonstrated doctrinal, moral, ethical, and financial integrity in his personal life.
Spiritual Gifts That Lend To This Position:
Evangelism, Leadership, Pastoring/Shepherding, Exhortation, Teaching
Special Talents Or Abilities Desired:
Experience in regularly leading others to Christ, leadership abilities, good communicator, experience in teaching and/or preaching, some training or experience in counseling
For reaching the lost and influencing the community for Christ, shepherding the saints, equipping them for ministry

Anticipated Time Commitments:
Ministry work/ Preparing for ministry: 40 hours/week
~Saturdays off, as well as one additional day during the week.
~40 hrs. would include visiting, community outreach, as well as office time.
Responsibilities/Duties of Position:
A. Spend significant time in prayer and bible study, Seeking God first.
B. Oversee Pastoral Staff
C. Oversee church discipline/manage conflict in the church. Seek to reconcile relationships and promote unity within the church.
D. Study and prepare messages to bring before the church. Through those messages: motivate, equip, and nurture the people of the church through example, and by communicating applicable lessons of God’s Word to the congregation
E. Provide leadership and vision for the church. Direct plans for ministry and church growth; develop and fine tune the church structure based on the church’s mission’s statement: “Sharing Christ, Strengthening Believers, and Serving Others.”
F. Exemplify evangelism efforts, personally, through preaching, visitation, networking with other churches, and other community outreach efforts and opportunities
G. Lead the church to worship through the observation of the Lord’s Supper and Baptism
H. Work in partnership with the Deacons to minister to those who are hospitalized or grieving, as well as pulpit supply when gone.
I. Provide premarital counseling, counseling regarding salvation and spiritual issues, and other counseling for church members
J. Perform weddings and preach at funerals.
