God is moving in New York. Ministry here is challenging due to the cost of living, unique culture, and demanding pace. In Nassau County on Long Island, evangelical Christians make up just 3% of the population. Yet, God is at work in this place.
Three years ago we relocated to our new facility and became Living Faith Christian Church. Since then, God has done more than we ever imagined. In less than three years worship attendance has grown from 500 to over 1,100 each week. Other ministries have
seen similar growth including over 800 adults now involved in small groups. Clearly, God has been at work.
Now, we are looking for where God is at work to bring someone new to join our team as
Executive & Missions Pastor. If you believe God may be directing our paths to cross, we invite you to email your resume and a letter for review. However, we are not looking for the standard cover letter. We want to know what you feel God
is calling you to do at this point in your ministry. Also, and most importantly, we want to know what led you to reach out to consider serving at this place and this time.
Please let us see a glimpse of your heart and what has brought you to this moment. As you do, we will look to see if we sense your story merging with that of Living Faith. Do your best to keep the letter to just two pages or less. Then, be sure to email
everything to us as soon as you can. The final deadline for submissions is January 28, 2013.
Along with your letter, your resume will need to reflect certain things for us to consider you for this position. For example, it should include experience serving in mid-sized to large congregations. Your resume must demonstrate you have the administrative
skill and experience required to fulfill the Executive Pastor role in large church environment.
That’s not all. First and foremost, our Executive & Missions Pastor will need to have a strong commitment to the local church. He will have full-time experience in local church ministry and possess the academic credentials to back up his
ministry experience. He must have skill and experience peaching or teaching groups of several hundred or more with some regularity. Also, he should have experience with, and passion for, mission on a local and international level. Finally, his theology would
need to fit Living Faith, which operates from a Baptist heritage and position.
Please pray about this opportunity to be part of what God is doing here on Long Island and here in the New York City metropolitan area. It is a special privilege to serve in a place where you know it is making a real difference. It requires sacrifice and
demands a call.
God is moving in this place. Now, the question is whether he is moving you to be part of it. If you believe that may be the case, email your letter and resume to us at executivepastor@LivingFaithNY.org no
later than Monday, January 28, 2013. Then, we will all pray for God’s clear direction and peace.
To Him be Glory in the Church.
