Webmaster & Designer

General Description of Duties:
This position will assist the Communications department with managing and overseeing the church’s website. This involves managing the day-to-day operations of the site, reviewing the site for consistent content, ensuring an adherence to our Style Guide, creating several design elements (including, but not limited to, web banners, flash pop-ups and other necessary graphics) and managing the overall aesthetic look/feel of the site. This person will also be able to recommend and suggest new ways to use graphics and flash, as well as implement other unique options to keep our site fresh, clean and up-to-date. Troubleshoot problems with our current host provider and pro-actively look for ways to improve any and all areas of our site for user-friendliness, from both internal and external perspectives.

Training and Qualifications:
Candidate should possess a proficiency in various programs, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver, Flash and HTML. Candidate should have a working knowledge and experience in website creation and design; a proficiency and creativity in designing graphics for web that represent a versatility amongst various design styles. Also possess a degree in a related discipline and/or work-related experience.

An added plus is knowledge of animation and possibly experience with print or video projects as well.

Graphic Designer

General Description of Duties
This position will assist the Communications department with all church-wide publications, marketing, desktop publishing and promotional materials. This involves a variety of tasks from design and layout to working with print vendors and prepping files for print. Designed materials include, but are not limited to, the weekly bulletin, promotional pieces for upcoming message series (including mailings, web advertisements, posters, banners), and any ministry-specific materials. This position will also provide creative support to the Communications Department and work closely with the Communications Coordinator to see all these projects completed from start to finish.

Training and Qualifications
Candidate should possess a proficiency in various design/layout programs, including Quark XPress, Adobe InDesign and other Adobe-family software; a bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related discipline. Substantial professional graphic design experience may be used in lieu of a graphic design degree. Knowledge of website development and design preferred, as well as possess a creativity in, and knowledge of, print and web graphics.

Video Guru

General Description of Duties:
This position will assist the Communications Department with managing and overseeing various video projects, from video announcements and television shoots to sermon support videos. This involves cutting edge, creative ideas and the implementation thereof, pre and post-production editing, DVD authoring, video storyboarding and directing the creation of any in-house video announcements/broadcasts. The candidate will also film and light various projects, participate and drive animation projects, as well continually offering fresh, creative perspectives.

Training and Qualifications:
Candidate should possess a proficiency in various programs, including Final Cut Pro and other video-editing software. Candidate should have a strong knowledge of and experience in video pre/post-production editing; strong creative skills and excellent communication and organizational skills. Also possess extensive experience with location shooting—covering camerawork, lighting, direction and audio. Candidate should also have strong work history in the aforementioned areas as well as solid training in the audio realm of video.
