Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop outreach programs for students and families
Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the student ministry including but not limited to Jr. & Sr. High Youth Group, Sunday School, trips and activities
Shall be responsible for coordinating volunteers, training and development of adult leaders who have a passion for shepherding and discipling students
Attend applicable meetings
Provide general spiritual and emotional care for the students in this ministry
Follow our Child Protection Policy
Coordinate schedules / activities
Oversee budget and expenditures for the student ministry
Evaluate programs for effectiveness, develop/select new or redesigned programs to fit changing needs within the church, in keeping with the mission of Edgewater UMC in helping the students meet, know and serve Jesus Christ.
Work in conjunction with other church ministries.

Fulfill mission of EUMC - Helping People Meet, Know, and Serve Jesus Christ
Bachelor’s degree
Flexible hours – Weekends a must
Ability to teach and preach
Staff experience with a youth program
Pass a background check and fingerprinting
Physically able to handle demands of job


• Personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is modeled in day-to-day life
• The successful candidate must be a Christian and fully support the mission of Edgewater United Methodist Church
• Work well with students with a love and desire to see students come to know, love and follow Jesus Christ
• Work well with adults and parents with a solid knowledge of how to help parents help their respective children
• Must be able to walk the line between challenging students and showing grace
• The ability to work efficiently and effectively in team situations is critical, as well as the ability to work independently
• Flexible Hours – To accommodate youth and youth programming
• Time Management Skills – Must possess solid time management skills and organizational abilities. The ability to coordinate several activities at once and to quickly analyze and resolve specific problems is important
• Creative – The ideal candidate should be creative, have a passion for students, be high energy, hard working, and have the ability to motivate others
• Must be able to partner in ministry with the pastor
