Worship Arts Director, Midwest US
We are working with a Gospel-driven church north of Chicago, IL as they seek a new Worship Arts Director to equip people to worship God as a community on mission. We are seeking a called, passionate and humble leader in the worship arts to facilitate the celebration of God’s glory as his people worship him together.

The growing church has a rich history in the community with around 1,000 meeting weekly, and is being led by a senior pastor who has “been there” as a worship leader in a large church. This church values worship and wants to pursue God with you as you lead and equip others to lead.

Though style is hardly the point, the worship at this church can be described as “contemporary / current.” We dislike style words too. We’re after a mindset and  philosophy, not a style.

You will establish a solid biblical and theological foundation for every part of the corporate worship experience. The vision will also be supported through the cultivation of services that:

  • lead the congregation to express a Godward orientation in worship
  • utilize Christ-exalting lyrics and appropriate musical settings
  • balance the gospel’s twin truths: We are worse sinners than we thought (appropriately reflective) and Jesus is a better Savior than we could ever hope to imagine (appropriately hopeful / joyful / inspiring)
  • emphasize congregational participation
  • demonstrate musical and aesthetic excellence

You will also mentor and develop other musicians and worship leaders.

The rest of your responsibilities fall into these areas: Service development, leading the Worship Arts staff, regularly leading worship, team development and the administrative duties that come with be leading a ministry in a church.

The main requirements we must insist upon are:

  • Leadership gift
  • Excellent musician who loves to empower people to grow and succeed
  • College degree
