The Director of Programming and Evangelism (DPE) is a full time position responsible for the development and direction of Lay Ministry programs, Adult Education, and small group ministries. The DPE will also oversee the Children’s Ministry Coordinator, as a leader and mentor, and work towards a more welcoming church through Evangelism and outreach. The DPE will work directly under the supervision of the Senior Pastor. The DPE will supervise the Children’s Ministry Coordinator.
Duties and Responsibilities:
·Develop ways and means to involve the laity in church ministry through volunteer service. Recruit, train, and nurture these volunteers to meet the needs of various ministries. Provide the necessary resources and follow-up to assure continuity of the programs and participation of the volunteers.
·Work with ministry programs already in place such as Adult Sunday School, Faith Promise, Natural Church Development, and other programs as assigned by the senior pastor.
·Identify needs for small group ministry and take steps to encourage their development (Disciple courses, Young Adult, Women, and Men Bible Studies).
·Oversee the Children’s Ministry Coordinator, serving as a leader and mentor.
·Encourage new members to join the areas in the church, “connecting” them with areas that they would find interesting or relevant to their life stage.
·Assist in worship, as needed (Children’s Moment, prayers, etc.).
·Work with the senior pastor and the Evangelism team to establish the framework of evangelism in the church.
·Evaluate & prepare our communication and printed materials, with an eye toward using them as evangelistic tools. (Connector, Bulletin Inserts, New Member Packets, etc.)
·Prepare & coordinate all advertising and public church publications, especially looking for innovative, effective, low-cost ways to let the community know about our church and its ministries.
·Oversee the website, ensuring it is updated and reviewed regularly to present the best image of our church on the Internet.
·Follow-up with visitors who attend worship services.
·Coordinate all aspects of our membership process, encouraging visitors, guests, and regular worshippers toward church membership.
·Lead the church in evangelism by working with the staff and other leaders to engage all church members in the work of evangelism.
·Attend the Administrative Council, Natural Church Development, Children’s Council (when needed), staff, and other meetings as assigned by the senior pastor. Be the staff liaison and responsible leader for the Nurture, Missions, and Evangelism committees.
·Fulfill other duties as directed by the Senior Pastor.
