The man we are seeking for the Senior Pastor position at Bedford Community Church should have a passion for God, His Word, and His people. These qualities should be evidenced in his personal life, his relationships, and his ministry. He should continually nurture his inner life through daily fellowship with God in prayer and Bible Study which allows him to “hear “ God and sense His direction. He should also demonstrate a balanced life in terms of his family, taking care of himself, and God’s calling on his life.
He should be a proven leader who is a developer of people and has demonstrated the ability to work with and through a team. He should lead in a participatory manner by involving others in the decision making process thereby creating ownership and a sense of shared purpose. He should be a “servant/team leader” who knows how to surround himself with strong leaders whose gifts augment his own gifts and calling and allows them the freedom to exercise those gifts.
He should have a fruitful preaching/teaching ministry that is relevant and sensitive to the culture at large but does not compromise the message in God’s word. We are looking for someone who can effectively train disciples and equip leaders and staff for ministry through teaching, personal modeling and mentoring.
He should also be a man of faith who has been strengthened by life’s trials. His life should be characterized by a spirit of love and humility but at the same time perseverance to accomplish God’s purposes. He should be a man of integrity who is friendly, approachable and has a good sense of humor. He should deal with conflict directly, honestly, and graciously in a manner according to the Word of God.
Lastly, we are looking for a man who wants to lead and nurture a growing and vibrant church in Southern New Hampshire; who wants to build on the foundation that has been laid of Biblical integrity, cultural relevance, God-honoring worship, community, and disciple making; and wants to see God work in the lives of those who attend BCC and those to whom they are called to minister.
