Job Description: Associate Pastor
Calvary Baptist Church Darien , CT.

Calvary Baptist Church is a small but vital church of 125 parishioners, located in Darien, CT. We currently conduct one worship service on Sunday that is primarily traditional but with contemporary music included, and are open to additional contemporary elements. We also conduct a Wednesday night prayer service and a number of other ministries suited for growth of the whole family in efforts to make disciples in our growing community.

We are seeking a servant leader to work alongside the Pastor on a full-time basis in order to aid in all aspects of church life and performance of his responsibilities, including helping to lead Sunday morning worship, implementing necessary policies and programs, working towards the goals associated with the Mission Statement of Calvary Baptist Church.

Specifically, in addition to the above, the Associate Minister will focus in the following areas”
*** Evangelism and Discipleship: To develop relationships with the membership of the church and the community for the purpose of evangelism and discipleship, including the outreach across multi-cultural lines to help to win the unsaved to Christ
*** Youth: To guide, nurture and disciple youth with solid biblical instruction so that they become mature in Christ, equipped future leaders and servants of Jesus Christ, able to handle life issues as well as to be able to counsel others with sound biblical advice.
*** Music: To plan, direct and implement music for worship including the recruiting, training, and coordinating of volunteer musicians and singers

This full time salaried position will meet with the Pastor on an agreed-upon,
regular basis for prayer, mentoring and to report on activities in his area of
responsibility.

Although the Associate Minister may work with various committees within the church, the Pastor and Deacons shall be the ultimate authority in deciding whether a policy, program or direction is appropriate.

We are looking for a candidate who has achieved, ideally, a Master of Divinity; but at a minimum has a Bachelor of Arts in Theology, plus 3-5 years of ministry experience. The affiliation is that he believe in Believer’s Baptist, in sympathy with the Conservative Baptist Assn. It is not required that this individual is ordained at the outset, but he should at least be licensed. The salary is competitive for the region and position.
