We are a non-denominational, Bible-teaching, Christ-centered, missions-oriented church. We are members of the Willow Creek Association, and we are Purpose-Driven by model. Our church is located in Monterey County an hour south of San Jose and 40 minutes from the world-famous Monterey Peninsula. The church was started in 1984 by the current senior pastor. Student Ministry Pastor
The Student Ministry Pastor (SMP) gives dynamic leadership to Senior High Ministry and supervises our Middle School Pastor. We are looking for a man or woman who is an excellent communicator in large group, small group, one-on-one, and written communication. The SMP must have a servant’s heart and be committed to doing ministry in a team setting with pastoral staff and the teams they lead/serve.

The SMP candidate must:
Meet the character qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
Be a proven leader.
Be able to give inspiring leadership to gifted volunteer leaders.
Be internally-driven to seek results, be a hard worker, and have a can-do, flexible attitude.
Have a Bachelor’s from a theological institution.
Have 2 years experience in youth ministry.
Be willing to live in a very expensive area.

The ideal SMP candidate would also:
Have 2 or more years experience leading in a church of 500 or more.
Have a Master’s degree from a seminary.
Be a highly effective preaching team member.
Have conversational Spanish abilities.
Add ethnic diversity to our staff.
1. Vision: Develop and articulate purpose, goals, vision and direction for highly impactful Student Ministries.
2. Volunteer Development: Recruit, equip, evaluate, and encourage volunteer staff to success.
3. Relationship: Develop relationships with staff and volunteers within the congregation that promote community
and move the ministry forward.
4. Pastoral Ministry Team: Serves with a team of 9 pastors in serving and leading the congregation.
5. Supervision: Leads a Middle School Pastor and Student Ministries Assistant while supervised by the Executive
