Job Description:
SUPPORT & ACCOUNTABILITY: Reports to Executive Pastor; 45 – 50 hours per week; Monthly 1-1 meetings, annual review, weekly time-sheets. BASIC FUNCTION: To work alongside parents to spiritually shepherd students (junior/senior high) and help them connect, grow and reach. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Demonstrates a personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ; 2. Character, attitudes, skill and behavior in keeping with scriptural guidelines for church leadership (1Timothy 3, Titus 1); 3. Agreement with Trinity Bible Church’s doctrinal statement and philosophy of ministry; 4. A gift mix that may include leadership, teaching, shepherding; 5. Relates well to students and develops volunteer staff to do the same; 6. Communicates and collaborates with parents; 7. Biblical/Theological training and ministry experience; 8. Ability to teach students biblical truth in a relevant manner. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Initiate and develop relationships and ministry methods/structures that encourage students to connect with others, grow in their personal walk with God and reach others through evangelism and service with the assistance of the ministry leadership team (MLT)*; 2. Understand and be committed to Trinity’s Connect/Grow/Reach strategy; 3. Spend time with students at and outside student functions; 4. Develop and coach a committed team to help nurture students; 5. Be knowledgeable and available to counsel or refer students in various life struggles; 6. Teach students with the goal of helping them begin and develop a relationship with Christ and live out of a Christian worldview; 7. Communicate with parents and be available to meet with them when necessary; 8. Work collaboratively with other staff members and participate in staff meetings and retreats; 9. Formulate annual budget and regular ministry goals and implement these with integrity; 10. Participate in regular training/continuing education and personal enrichment activities to foster both personal and ministry health. (* MLT comprised of Pastor of Student Ministry, Elder, Deacons and involved lay-persons (a team-led approach to each ministry at Trinity Bible Church). APPLICATION DEADLINE: JULY 31, 2008.
