Job Description:
Youth and Outreach Minister

Purpose: To build Trinity’s mission by building programs for youth at Trinity and providing opportunities for community outreach and involvement for all members, thus increasing Trinity’s involvement and visibility in the community.

Develop a program for teens, grades 7-12, including weekly meetings and regular opportunities for service, worship, fellowship and spiritual growth.
Encourage youth participation in diocesan youth activities.
Build pastoral relationships with Trinity youth and their families through regular communication and contact.
Grow Trinity’s youth programs through invitation, recruitment, and community involvement.
Supervise confirmation classes for youth.
Use Internet and other media resources for communication and ministry.
Identify and create opportunities for Trinity’s members of all ages to participate in service in the local community.
Connect parishioners with opportunities to use their abilities in community service.
Strengthen Trinity’s multi-generational fellowship by recruiting and working with parishioners of all ages in service and outreach ministries.

Attendance at 10:00 Sunday worship and all Trinity youth events.
Scheduling flexibility for regular evening and weekend activities.
40-50 hour work week
Spiritual and emotional maturity
Cooperative working style with committees, clergy, volunteers, and parents

Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s in education or similar field desirable.
Membership or interest in the Episcopal Church, clear commitment to church involvement.
Experience in youth ministry and/or community organizing.
Spanish language skills desirable.
Computer literate
Solid people skills: outgoing, community-oriented, positive outlook and sense of humor
Background checks and Safeguarding God’s People requirements met

Salary commensurate with experience
4 weeks vacation time
1 week continuing ed
