North Terrace Church of Christ is a multi-generational church 45 miles east of Columbus, Ohio, averaging 750 in attendance on a weekly basis. We need someone who can take our ministry of preschoolers through 5th graders and grow it in innovative ways. The Children's Minister would complete the team of the Senior Minister, Worship Minister, Youth Minister, and Associate Minister (adult education, small groups, etc).
Really love kids and their families and want to see children’s lives changed by the love of Jesus.
Prepare and evaluate children’s curriculum to create a focus that provides a solid Biblical foundation and belief structure.
Equip and develop the children’s ministry team so that all volunteers work well together, embrace the vision and achieve goals together.
Oversee recruitment, relational development, scheduling, and training of volunteers
Develop a first class ministry which is known for its welcoming atmosphere, solid teaching, servant’s hearts, and innovative approach to growing kids in Christ.
Create and manage ministry budgets, develop safety and security plans, prepare long term plans for growth, ensure that every event operates smoothly and according to our standards (such as child to adult ratios, check in/out methods, etc.)
Own and execute plans for holidays, special events, outside activities, etc.
Participate in ministry as well as staff meetings and planning sessions as needed.
Oversee all ministry communications through various media and methods.
Develop and grow relationships with parents as well as ministry partners.
Promote a professional environment while having fun at the same time.
Bachelor’s degree in the area of children’s ministry, education, child development, or a related field and equivalent experience.
Possess above average communications skills.
Ability to work independently; be self-motivated
Have an advanced understanding and insight of ministry to children.
Have a teachable, approachable spirit.
Maintain a strong work ethic, growing spiritual walk, and high moral character.
