Job Description:

Grace Fellowship Church of Warren, Ohio is seeking a full-time Senior Pastor to shepherd our established, growing church in Warren, Ohio.  The Senior Pastor will be responsible for overall spiritual development and care of the church family demonstrating skill in communicating Biblical truth, spiritual maturity, passion for the ministry, leadership capabilities and the ability to communicate a vision for Grace Fellowship.


Accountable to: Leadership Team and Elders

Scope: Shepherd the congregation at Grace Fellowship Church

Job Summary: The Senior Pastor will be responsible for the overall spiritual development and care of the church family demonstrating leadership, vision, compassion, spiritual maturity, skill in communicating Biblical truth, good interpersonal relational skills and passion for the ministry.



  • Must meet the qualifications for Senior Pastor as provided in the church bylaws
  • A personal and growing relationship with Christ
  • Bachelors and Masters degree in theology or equivalent
  • Be ordained
  • Demonstrate a clear and passionate call to ministry
  • Evidence of proven interpersonal skills as a team leader and player
  • Ability to teach and preach in an effective manner
  • Demonstrate a Biblical knowledge of the scriptures with the ability to communicate practical applications to life
  • Organized  with the ability to recruit and disciple others
  • Respect for authority
  • An attitude of servant leadership
  • Strong work ethic, moral integrity and dependable

  • Ability to cast vision
  • Understands and appreciates the use of arts, technology, and a culturally relevant approach in ministry for the maximum local cultural impact

  • Fulfill duties for Senior Pastor as provided in the church bylaws
  • Provide spiritual oversight and care for the church family, helping believers to develop and use their spiritual gifts, through visitation, counseling, teaching and preaching of God’s Word, discipleship, weddings and funerals and other duties as directed by the Elders and/or Leadership Team
  • Lead, manage and develop the pastoral and office teams through weekly team meetings, individual coaching sessions, and accountability moments
  • Demonstrate godly leadership and wisdom in planning worship services, working with church committees, volunteers, and team development
  • Plan and develop training events and /or retreats for the church leadership and pastoral staff
  • Represent the church family at pastoral and community events
  • Maintain safety concerns by being alert to security issues related to the use of Grace Fellowship Church facilities
  • Administer church policies approved by the Leadership Team
  • Works with and assists the church and its committees in developing, implementing, and maintaining a vision plan for the church in coordination with the church staff, Leadership Team and Elders
  • Provide a quarterly written report to the Leadership Team and Elders regarding staff and ministry activities, and health of the church
  • Prepare a yearly calendar that encompasses faith, vision, goal setting, programming, and other pertinent issues to the Leadership Team, and a yearly calendar that encompasses faith, vision, spiritual growth, and other pertinent issues to the Elders, submitting each by January 1 of each year to the respective boards for input
  • Facilitate weekly staff meetings
  • Prepare a yearly written report for the Annual Congregational Meeting regarding ministry related activities to the area of responsibility

Performance Review:

The Senior Pastor will receive an annual performance review conducted in accordance with the bylaws.
