Job Description:

The Small Groups Pastor will provide a dynamic leadership and will effectively empower, equip and pastor staff and volunteers to lead small groups.  The Small Groups Pastor will play a vital role in supporting the vision of SeaCoast Grace by creating a structure that can provide a safe and discipling Small Group environment that creates a sense of community for all people in our church family.  The Small Groups Pastor will determine the advancement of potential leaders in Small Groups and other areas of the church.  The Small Groups Pastor will develop content of Next Steps 101 class to be used as a gateway to guide individuals into small groups.



Primary Duties and Responsibilities


  • Shall create and cast vision for small group ministries.
  • Shall develop a structure of spiritually gifted leaders to progress on their spiritual journey.
  • Shall assess the spiritual climate of the adult population and provide multiple levels of entry and education to grow people into fully-devoted followers of Jesus.
  • Shall develop a clear plan to recruit and develop new leaders Small Groups.
  • Shall work with Creative Arts Department to creatively promote Small Groups to the congregation through special events, drama, video and other strategies.
  • Shall maintain a database and website for Small Groups.
  • Shall staff and facilitate the Next Steps 101 class with pastoral team according to the curriculum provided.
  • Shall propose and maintain department budget to be approved by Management Team.
  • Shall maintain an average work week of a minimum of 40 hours.
  • Shall participate in other pastoral functions as assigned by the Executive Pastor or Senior Pastor.



Criteria & Responsibilities


  • Bachelors or Seminary Degree (preferred)
  • At least 5 years of Church related experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills are required
  • Passion for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, ensuring their growth and development into spiritual maturity
  • Commitment to the Vision, Mission, Purposes and Philosophies of SCG.
