Student Ministry Purpose: To be strategically involved with middle and high school students in order to equip, train and lead them into a more vital and productive relationship with Jesus Christ.
Associate Pastor Purpose: To be a part of a mutually supportive ministry team through strategic planning, designing, leading and equipping the body for service. This position will make use of candidates additional giftings and skills. Possible areas of ministry will include media/technology, creative arts, music, worship, etc.
Pastoral Candidates Qualifications:
Demonstrate a commitment to ministry through an adequate biblical education. Candidate should have attained a bachelors degree or greater in a relevant field of study and be willing to pursue ongoing education and training as needed.
Should posses a thorough knowledge of scripture in order to appropriately counsel, teach, preach, minister and equip students and others for ministry.
Must be able to articulate your testimony of faith clearly including;
-How you came to be a follower of Jesus Christ.
-What your spiritual gifts are and how they are relevant to your ministry.
-How God is working in your life presently.
Must be willing and able to articulate clearly and concisely the message of salvation to people of all ages, from all walks of life.
Ability to work in concert with the staff and team leaders to design, implement and lead middle school through college student ministries as well as other ministry programs as required (i.e. worship team, music, creative team etc.)
Demonstrate the ability to effectively recruit, disciple, lead and assimilate believers into the ministries of Kilpatrick church.
Ability to establish rapport, build lasting relationships and comfortably work with the wide variety of age groups and populations.
Demonstrate an ability to teach, preach, and counsel students in an effective manner.
Ability to responsibly prioritize and appropriately manage ministry budgets in accordance with the overall church financial plan.
Have proficiency in usage of media and technology in ministry applications such as worship,
creative arts, music, recruitment, assimilation, evangelism etc.
Should posses at least 2-5 years of growing student ministry experience. A history of work experience in other ministries, or a strong desire to develop in additional areas of ministry responsibility, is desirable.
Have solid spiritual discipline habits in regards to their personal faith, ie quiet time, prayer,
bible study etc.. Candidate should demonstrate a stable, mature and growing faith with a strong personal, marital and family life (as applicable).
Must be able to support the doctrinal position of Kilpatrick Church and support the Everyday
Commission Statement. Candidate should be willing to begin the process of becoming a licensed/ordained pastor of the United Brethren Church (if applicable).
Be committed to a team philosophy with the Senior Pastor, church staff, church board and
members of the ministry teams.
Pastoral Candidate reports to:
1)The Senior Pastor
-Attends weekly staff meetings
-Provides verbal and/or written reports as requested
-Upon request of the chairperson
