Position Description


Title:  Worship Programming Director


Reporting Relationships: The Worship Programming Director will report to the Worship Arts Pastor


Function:  To creatively design and program services that communicate God’s message in artistic and unique ways.  The Programming Director will contribute creatively to the Worship Arts team by creating, discovering and bringing together the various artistic elements needed for programming services and events of the Worship Arts team.  This position focuses on Creativity, Leadership, Design, and Media skills. 


Hours: Exempt-Full Time, Exempt employees are generally expected to devote the number of hours necessary to complete their respective tasks. Will include weekend and/or possible evening hours



  • Be a catalyst for creative programming
  • Taking creative programming elements from start to finish in detail
  • A primary source of creativity for the Worship Arts team
  • Key role in contributing, participating, and expressing creative elements for services
  • Giving creative direction in all Worship Arts meetings and planning sessions
  • Connecting with the RPCC community to interact and utilize volunteers
  • Facilitate the design, programming and details of worship services
  • Guide, model and train both staff and volunteers to creatively deliver each service’s theme and message.
  • Direct involvement in developing and creating weekend service
  • Continually evaluating and strengthening worship experiences by seeking God’s wisdom in all we do each weekend, evaluating cultural trends,  implementing programming that is relevant to all attendees, and being flexible and open to change
  • Working closely as a team with other Worship Arts Staff to bring all pieces of the service together
  • Shepherd, build, and guide volunteers
  • Intentionally develop and empower volunteers to use their gifts
  • Assist in the creation of creative, artistic pieces through the use of video and photography
  • Coordinate weekend volunteer teams (which may include Drama, Dance, Hospitality, Production)
  • Oversight, organization and execution of participants for Communion and Declarations of Faith
  • Provide creative insight for the Communications Department
  • Provide vision and direction for all Worship Arts communications pieces
  • Assist in the development and creativity of all Worship Arts communications pieces
  • Construct and contribute to special media and design pieces
  • Ability to select and create custom graphic pieces (such as logo, slides, handouts)
  • Ability to create, storyboard, film and edit videos
  • Ability to design creative pieces for weekend services (such as poetry, drama, dance)
  • Develop creative processes church-wide
  • Partner with other ministries to develop and train healthy creative planning processes
  • Empower the development of an environment conducive to communicating God’s message in all our services, seminars, and large group gatherings

  • Demonstrated ability to be contribute to the creative process from start to finish
  • Demonstrated ability to be a creative problem solver
  • Demonstrated ability to design and contribute to media pieces
  • Preferred 2-3 years experience in leading successful worship ministry in growing church environment
  • Preferred 2-3 years of proven ability to develop, lead, and motivate volunteer teams
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Ministry or Ministry-related field
  • Beliefs consistent with Ridge Point’s “Statement of Belief”
  • Member or willing to become a member of Ridge Point Church within 6 months of employment
