JOB STATUS:  Full Time (or two Part-Time positions, divided between sites)

 

REPORTS TO:  Senior Minister

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

1.  Experience in directing group singing

2.  Basic computer skills (MS Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook)

3.  Piano/Keyboard skills, proficiency in other musical instruments and music is a plus; guitar is also welcomed

4.  A sensitivity to ensure respect for the diversity of atmosphere between Traditional and Contemporary worship

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

First United Methodist Church of New Castle, Indiana is a well known, established church seeking to fill the newly created position of Director of Music Ministries.  The director of this position must be a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a person of character and integrity.  We would like the individual to look upon the position as a calling from God and to have a desire to expand the music ministry of our church.

 

THE CANDIDATE WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Coordinating/leading music at our home site as well as at our new church plant called “The Place”
  • Coordinating music for all the varied groups and activities, including Adult Chancel Choir, Adult Praise Band, Youth Praise Band and special music for holidays/special events.
  • Working closely with the Youth Pastor on programs for youth and family ministry at The Place
  • Choosing and/or recommending music for all services and various music groups, especially as they relate to the message theme
  • Provide music service for weddings and funerals as requested
  • Working with the pastor, the Administrative Council and the Staff Parish Committee
  • Ensure the care, maintenance and inventory of all music and equipment
  • Other duties as outlined by the Staff Parish Relations Committee

 

COMPENSATION IS DETERMINED BY EXPERIENCE LEVEL
