Job Description:

In a nutshell:  There is an amazing opportunity to reach teenagers and disciple them to be influencers for the cause of Christ.  At Indian Creek Community Church, we strongly believe teenagers have the potential to be world changers and we need a person to lead this movement.  Indian Creek is a 27 year old church, passionate about leading people to real life in Jesus.

Student Ministries Pastor


The Win: To lead a movement of life change in Johnson County through teenagers


Reports to: Olathe Campus Pastor


Important Organizational Key Accountabilities (critical to do)


-       Serve as the Leader for all Student ministry on the Olathe Campus (middle school and high school)

-       Lead leaders that lead others 

-       Serve as the cultural architect of the ministry by casting vision and shaping culture

-       Partner with Parents through resourcing and encouragement

-       Engage students in multiple Live Out efforts annually

-       Grow students faith at every level of their spiritual journey (exploring, beginning, following, sent)

-       Foster authentic relationships between Godly adult leaders and teenagers outside of programs

-       Create environments that believing students are drawn into the presence of God and non-believing students are inspired to be apart. 

-       Partner with the teaching/message planning team to discern each week’s “Big Idea”

-       Build and develop teams in all areas of the ministry  (large group leaders, small group leader, etc)

-       Work under a family ministry strategy providing discipleships from age 0 – age 18.

-       Serve on the Olathe Campus Team

-       Steward the Big Idea in the planning and programming of large and small group environments

-       Lead a Community Group (minimum of one semester a year)

-       Resource other campuses in student ministry through leadership development, best practices, etc.

-       Build community among the Journey teams

-       Must do everything possible to serve as a unifier between departments and campuses

-       Demonstrate competence and expertise leading a growing Student ministry

-       Maintain a consistent and vibrant time with God of prayer, study, and other disciplines

-       Maintain a consistent and vibrant time with your spouse (if applicable)

-       Maintain a consistent and vibrant time with your children (if applicable)

-       Develop and engage in redemptive relationships with lost people


Personal commitments:

-       Spend time in prayer together as a student ministry team

-       Pray for God’s favor on the church and mission fulfillment

-       Support the mission of the church with a minimum of a tithe
