St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas, is a mission and values driven congregation. Service and grace is the center of its community, as its mission is to call the Christianish to become passionate servants of Christ. Its values are unexpected extra, radical hospitality, can-do confidence, abundant grace, and extravagant generosity. In its twenty-six years of existence, St. Andrew’s has become a pillar in the Plano community as it has grown to 1700 attendees on Sundays and resides on a beautiful campus on Plano Parkway. The sprawling campus includes a peaceful pond and creek as well as a meditation garden for the community to enjoy. The church’s regal architecture with beautiful marble, columns, and stained glass is breathtaking.


St. Andrew launched a brand new contemporary service called The Well in September. 800 people attended the first service, and they will start a second service at The Well this month. This is an exciting time in the church history, and a great opportunity for a dynamic Children's Director to take the Children's Ministry to the next level.


The Children's Director will serve as the chief leader and communicator of children's ministries at St. Andrew United Methodist Church. While all ministries at St. Andrew’s function within the framework of the larger church vision, the Children's Director will seek to creatively implement that vision in a relevant and effective manner in the Children’s Ministry large group and small group structure.


It is required that the new Children’s Director will hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. An advanced degree in biblical studies, seminary training, or child development is preferred, but not required.


The successful candidate will have experience in educational theory and development of children and families. He or she will have experience managing teams and building leaders with a proven track record of creative thinking and problem solving. This individual will be a committed team player and proven collaborator, always putting what is best for the St. Andrew’s community first.
