Position Title: Minister of Discipleship and Adult Education
Position Type: Full-time

Position Summary: The Minister of Discipleship and Adult Education is a key member of the Senior Staff Team of FBC Frisco responsible for overseeing the adult Discipleship Ministry of FBC Frisco. This position will also be responsible for backing up the pastor in weddings, funerals, counseling, and preaching on Sunday mornings and reports directly to the Senior Pastor.
Skills/Experience: Masters Degree from a re ble seminary. Minimum of five years successful experience as a Minister of Discipleship and Small groups, Education or Associate Pastor at a church of like-size or larger in a similarly situated community situation. Experience filling in pastoral visitation, counseling, and pulpit supply preferred, but not required.
Requirements: Must be a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Must be highly organized and have gifts and talents compatible with leadership and administration of FBC Frisco. Must possess personal integrity, maturity and godliness evidenced by the fruits of the Spirit and be free from addictions and life dominating sins. Must have a humble teachable spirit, a good sense of humor, and be flexible and adaptable. Must be able to perform the duties listed in the attached list with a high degree of quality, accuracy and efficiency.
Compensation: Benefits include flexibility with housing allowance, insurance allowance for employee and family, allotment for seminary reimbursement, and up to 5% matching in retirement account with Guidestone Financial Resources.

Work closely with the Senior Pastor in develo nd implementing the adult education and discipleship strategy and programs of the church.
1. This includes all Adult Bible Study classes, Small groups, Men’s and Women’s groups, Equipping classes, membership classes, and felt need classes or groups that target adults.
2. Is responsible for develo program for follow-up and assimilation of adults who visit the church.
3. Is directly responsible for enlisting adult volunteers for various adult discipleship ministries.
4. With the support of the senior pastor, develop a plan for leadership development and ongoing training for adult lay leaders.
5. Provide leadership in the selection of all bible study literature.
6. Directly oversee all adult-level Christian education classes (currently called Adult Bible Fellowship Classes), recruiting new leadership and starting new classes on a regular basis.
7. Directly oversee all small group bible studies, recruiting new leadership and starting new studies on a regular basis. (These currently take place on Sunday nights at the church and at various homes and times during the week.)
8. Provide monthly development opportunities for those leading Adult Bible Fellowship Classes and small group bible studies.
9. With the support of the senior pastor, develop and implement a plan for follow-up contact with visitors that encompasses both staff and lay person participation.
10. Provide report of annual community demographics and prepare recommendations for new small group opportunities to reach the people of Frisco.
11. Preparation, submittal, and ongoing oversight of a detailed yearly budget reflecting the goals, objectives and programs of the Adult Education Ministry.
1. Fill the pulpit on Sunday mornings at the request of the Senior Pastor.
2. Conduct pre-marital counseling and weddings if requested or in the event the Senior Pastor is not available.
3. Conduct bereavement counseling and funerals if requested or in the event the Senior Pastor is not available.
4. Conduct marital counseling and give referrals if requested or in the event the Senior Pastor is not available.
5. Conduct baptism counseling and baptisms if requested or in the event the Senior Pastor is not available.
1. Supervise and evaluate Ministry Assistant for the Adult Education Ministry.
2. Work in cooperation with the Senior Pastor and Senior Staff Team to address tactical and strategic issues related to management, vision and direction of the ministries of FBC Frisco.
3. Treat with the strictest confidence (even when no longer employed by FBC) sensitive issues, correspondence, counseling appointments, and special needs of members.
4. Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
