Job Description:
Northshore Baptist Church is a church of over 2000 located in Bothell, Washington, a Seattle suburb. We are seeking a Pastor of Community Life who will spiritually direct, lead, and champion the community life of Northshore where people connect more deeply with the Risen Christ and with each other in order to be a life-transforming community of Jesus for the world.

Primary Areas of Community Life Responsibility:
Community Life
. Be the champion for "life-transforming community of Jesus" at Northshore
. Serve as an integral member of the Ministry Management Team
. Lead the Community Life Team (Assistant Pastor of Small Groups, Pastor of Welcome & Assimilation, Pastor of Congregational Care, Pastor of Men's Ministry, and Director of Women's Ministry)
. Develop annual ministry action plan with specific strategies, goals, and objectives for Northshore Community Life

Small Groups
. Develop, coordinate, and lead the overall vision, strategy, and implementation of the Small Groups Ministry
. Ensure that Small Group philosophy and methodology is fully integrated and in concert with Northshore Path
. Develop and implement Small Group Philosophy and strategy with and through the Assistant Pastor of Small Groups
. Discover, develop, and deploy Small Group directors, coaches, and leaders in conjunction with other ministry leaders and the existing NSB Small Groups network (e.g., Men's Ministry, Women's Ministry, Student Ministry, etc.)
- Discover - recruit Small Group directors, coaches, and leaders and develop a leadership development program for Small Groups where future leaders are trained with hands-on experience to lead at the next level of the Small Group structure (i.e., "leadership pipeline")
- Develop - provide biblical, theological, philosophical, and relational training for Small Group directors, coaches, and leaders to give them further enthusiasm and expertise in leading Small Groups
- Deploy - release and encourage Small Group directors, coaches, and group leaders to effectively lead and shepherd their teams

Community Life Events
. Develop, coordinate, and execute special Community Life Events that provide the body opportunities to fellowship with each other and invite people to a "non-threatening" environment (e.g., Community Camp, Sunday Summer in the Park, etc.)

Newcomer Welcome and Assimilation
. Oversee and work with and through Pastor of Welcome and Assimilation to ensure that new people to Northshore are fully integrated into the body of Northshore through our "First Impressions"
. Oversee and assist in more fully developing the New Member Orientation class and process
. Provide initial contact and follow-up to visitors and new attendees at Northshore

Congregational Care
. Oversee and work with and through Pastor of Congregational care to develop, coordinate, and implement the Congregational Care Ministry

Men's & Women's Ministry
. Oversee and work with and through the Pastor of Men's Ministry and the Director of Women's Ministry to develop and implement ministries for men and women to connect more deeply and meaningfully with Christ and with each other

Potential candidates must have:
- proven leadership to include leading and developing leaders
- a minimum of 5 years experience as a small groups/community life pastor managing at least 40 small groups and preferably a small group coaching leadership level as well.
- served on a church staff of at least 1000
- have a Master's degree in Ministry or Theology (preferable)
