Worship Pastor
Position Description
The Worship Leader will give leadership to staff and volunteers serving on the music team. He/she will strive to bring authenticity and creativity to the weekend services through leading worship and overseeing all aspects of the music production of services.
We are seeking a shepherd with an authentic relationship with God to help usher our people into the presence of God through worship. This person would work closely with our Senior Pastor to cultivate an environment of praise and worship within our church. We desire a candidate who understands the history of worship. We desire someone who can read people in moments of worship and can help move toward an intimate encounter with God. This person should have a good singing voice, but the emphasis is not only on the sound. We desire a person who has a personality that allows them to lead well in front of our congregation while serving as a pastor to them in moments of worship. This person must have excellent verbal communication skills. They should be able to build, train and care for a worship team.
Just as the psalmist in Psalm 63 expresses a deep longing for God, we want to take extended time out of our busy schedules to worship the Lord and linger in His presence.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Administrative
A. Recruit: Recruit and develop musicians to be a part of the team.
B. Development: Work side-by-side with Creative Arts Director in developing musical excellence and creativity in this ministry.
C. Brainstorm: Meet weekly with the Brainstorming Team and the Creative Arts Director for planning of the services.
D. Reports: Provide weekly and monthly reports to the Creative Arts Director for the purpose of accountability as well as assistance in accomplishing established goals.
E. Train: Implement and train musicians in the church philosophies as well as develop creative community time for team building within ministry team meetings.
F. Leadership: Provide leadership to the Music Staff.
G. Meetings: Attend departmental, supervisory, and Music Team meetings.
H. Staff Meetings: Attend Staff meetings for global, visionary, and organizational matters.

2. Production
A. Services: Plan, coordinate and communicate all musical aspects of the Weekend Services, WOW weekends, Easter, and Christmas services in cooperation with the Creative Arts Director and Teaching Pastors.
B. Rehearsal: Lead musical rehearsals during the week as well as at the weekend services.
C. Current Trends: Be listening for new music, ideas, and creative means of communicating our message.
D. Music: Arrange, transcribe, and distribute vocal and instrumental music to be performed.
E. Tracking: Track Production using Digital Performer.
3. Pastoral Duties
A. Pastoral Staff Rotation: Serve as Pastor-on-call through regular rotation of hospital visitations and communion service.
B. Pastoral Care: Pastoral counseling; officiate funerals and weddings as requested.
C. Other: Various other duties as requested.
Interaction with Others
This person will work closely with the Creative Arts Director as well as the rest of the Creative Arts staff. He/she will also work closely with the Creative Arts volunteers.
Desired Skills/Abilities
This person must be a creative person with leadership abilities. An understanding of the seeker environment philosophy is necessary. Must be a team player willing to work with others and develop musical teams. Musical experience with contemporary pop rhythm section is essential and experience in arranging and music theory is valuable.

This person must have experience in a church of 2000+ and have experience in supervising multiple staff. Bachelor’s in Music or related field
