South New Milford Baptist Church is an independant Baptist Church. We are averaging between 350-400 on Sunday mornings, and have an average youth group attendance of 80-100 junior/senior high teens. We have recently re-located to a new church site, enjoying a new sanctuary, gymnasium, and Christian Education building. We believe in the Truth of God's Word, and feel the Bible is the authority for our lives.
Primary responsibilities include the teaching and leading of the junior/senior high ministries of South New Milford Baptist Church. Candidates should have a passion and love for teenagers, and a desire to see teens grow in their walk with Christ. He must be able to communicate clearly the truths of God’s Word, and present these truths in a relevant and applicable way to teens. In addition to teaching teens, he must also be effective in leading a strong, committed group of volunteer youth staff, composed of 40+ adult youth leaders. He will be responsible for planning a yearly youth calendar of events, of which are included both social and evangelistic outreaches. The candidate must also be able to present an annual youth budget that will allow the youth ministry to function. He will work in conjunction with the church’s finance committee to accomplish this. The candidate will be responsible for planning a yearly mission’s trip for the senior high youth, as well as outreach opportunities for the junior high. He must be committed to both evangelism and discipleship.
In addition to his responsibilities with the youth, he must also be prepared for various other areas of service. The candidate will be responsible for various counseling opportunities with children, teens, and adults. He will also assume home and hospital visitation responsibilities, as well as various other service ministries.
The candidate will also have responsibilities with weddings and funerals, communion, business meetings, and various committee meetings. He will serve on the Christian Education committee as the youth coordinator, and will also be required to attend all deacon meetings.
The candidate will be responsible for teaching the youth group on Wednesday evenings, Sunday school, as well as preaching in various Sunday services. He will also be responsible to fulfill any other duties as assigned by the senior pastor.
Candidates should have a bachelor’s or equivalent degree with an emphasis on ministry.
Candidates should have a desire to minister to teenagers.
He should have character that is above reproach, and must be an example of Christ-likeness.
He should be growing in his own personal walk with the Lord, and should be a positive influence.
His authority should be the Word of God, and he must be in agreement with SNMBC’s statement of faith and beliefs.
Candidates should be characterized by humility, a teachable spirit, and a love for people.
Candidates should be familiar with using Microsoft Word, Works, and Power-point.
He should be “up-to-date” on youth culture and needs.
