Northside Baptist Church is seeking a Worship Arts Pastor who can lead our Worship Arts Ministry into the future. Northside, an innovative SBC Church in Columbia, South Carolina that is soon to be relocated to a new 85 acre location is seeking a dynamic leader to oversee the Worship& Arts Ministry.
We currently average close to 1100 during our 2 Sunday services, one blended and one contemporary and are seeking someone who can effectively lead in both styles. This position oversees all worship music, drama, and video in conjunction with the message of a given Sunday.
We desire a leader who demonstrates a lifestyle of worship, integrity and commitment. He should have a growing relationship with Christ, with his family and with others. He will meet the biblical qualifications for leadership according to 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. He will have the kind of wisdom and peacemaking ability found in James 3:17-18. The fruit of the Spirit should be evident and growing in his life, especially the fruit of love according to 1 Corinthians 13. He will be able to embrace and support the Northside Baptist Church purpose, mission, vision and values.
Our ideal candidate will have strong worship leading abilities in multiple styles. He should also have the ability to build and lead a service design team committed to excellence, creativity and genuine worship with sensitivity to flow, to transitions, to the leading of the Holy Spirit, to “planned spontaneity” and to reading the moment in worship. He will need excellent communication and people skills, good organizational and leadership skills, proven team building ability and three or more years experience leading a Worship Arts Ministry in a church averaging 500 or more. He will have good vocal and instrumental leadership skills with the ability to work with contemporary praise bands and vocal teams as well as orchestra, vocal ensembles and choir. He will probably need some writing/arranging/orchestrating ability or the resources to get it done. He will be a visionary leader who knows how to communicate with and bring out the best in artistic and creative people. He will have experience producing and conducting major ministry events such as concerts, musical productions and other special events. He will be a Worship Arts community builder with a pastor/shepherd’s heart. He will be a learner who is always looking for ways to improve and grow for himself, his staff and his ministry partners. He will be actively involved in sharing his faith with others outside the church.
Our new Worship Arts pastor will be a secure, confident individual with the ability to work well with and enjoy others. He will need to have excellent chemistry with our Senior Pastor and the Pastoral Leadership Team. He will be forward thinking, solution seeking and redemptive in his approach to problem solving and conflict management. He will have good relational and communicational skills as well as a strong work ethic.
Our desire is to create an environment for our staff that is joyful, fun productive, creative, catalytic, caring, and committed to excellence in life and ministry. We want to grow a healthy, vibrant church that deeply loves God and one another. We want to do life deeply together and to share that life with others.
