At Alameda Hills Baptist Church, we believe that within a Christian family, God designates the parents to be the primary spiritual disciplers of their children. Our intention is to continually train parents with Biblical precepts to fulfill this role. Our Children’s Ministries and Youth Ministries will minister within this context, as a resource for the parents, not a replacement for them. We do realize that in many cases today, parents have dismissed this responsibility, and have no desire to take this role, often because they have no spiritual foundation to draw from themselves. In those cases, the Children’s/Youth Ministries will attempt to mentor those children spiritually to the best of our abilities. However, our goal will always be to bring the parent(s) to the place of being able to assume that responsibility.
Youth meetings should be conducive to worship, and train children in applying the truths of the Word of God to their lives and their relationship with the Lord. The atmosphere should be fun and engaging, within the confines of appropriate behavior within a church.
