ChurchStaffing.com is here to assist you in many ways during your ministry staff search. If this is your first time visiting us, here is an overview of how we can help you today...
Action Step #1
Join Our Weekly Church Personnel Newsletter
One of the first things you'll want to do is sign-up for our free weekly email newsletter "Church Personnel Weekly". Each Tuesday morning, you'll receive the newest resumes of prospective staff members, helpful articles on staffing issues and more. This will help bring you up-to-speed on staffing issues and resources during your search process. We don't sell your name or share it with others... and you can unsubscribe at any time. Just type your email address and click 'Go'...
Action Step #2
Add Your Church's Job Opening
The fastest and best way for you to kick off your staff search is by adding your job opening information to our database. We'll provide you with the best exposure all around the web to put your job opening announcement in front of a large pool of potential candidates. Your listing will appear here at our main ChurchStaffing.com website (that receives between 3,000 and 4,000 unique visitors each day. It will also appear at all of our partner websites including ChurchCentral.com; Our large church LeadNet website (for churches with 1000+ in weekly worship attendance); PastorsHelper.com; WorshipLeaderJobs.com (our partnership with Worship Leader Magazine); among others.
In addition, all 'featured' or paid job listings also are highlighted initially on all our web pages in the 'newly added' column (like the one you see now to the right). And most importantly, we'll include your listing in our next email newsletter that is received by over 47,000 pastors and church staff members.
Because there are so many church staff members looking to be placed, it is best if you are as specific as possible about what you are looking for when you post your position here. Be sure to put down the requirements you desire for anyone who applies for this position (i.e. "Five years experience" or "seminary degree required"). This will help you to cut down on the total number of resumes you receive, and at the same time increase the quality and targetability of those who respond to your job opening listing.
We've found that the average job search for most churches takes between five and fifteen months from start to finish. Of course, this is just an average and your search could go much longer, or be much shorter than that. Keep this in mind when choosing your listing duration during sign-up...
Action Step #3

Action Step #6
Run Background Checks BEFORE You Hire
Why do you need to perform background checks before you offer employment? It used to be commonly held that a pastor or church staff member would be the last person in the world you would need to run a background check on. Unfortunately, news headlines recently have shown this to be totally untrue. When you are hiring a pastor or staff member, most legal advisors and denominational officials are recommending a complete background check to insure that there is no past record or activity that could bring embarrassment to your church and the cause of Christ. Background checks are quickly becoming standard procedure, and your church should strongly consider conducting a background check before completing your employment contract. ChurchStaffing.com has teamed up with Trak-1 to provide fast, online access to background checks...
