If you’re looking to advance in your career, either by expanding your current role or moving into new ones, it’s important that you do a number of things. Learn new skills, look for ways to do your job more efficiently, be flexible, etc. It’s also really important that you maintain good working relationships with your team, your managers and colleagues. Be a go-to person with everyone on your team, and you’ll soon see yourself become increasingly indispensable.
But don’t stop with your team. Your company is dynamic and constantly changing. Make sure that you’re cultivating good relationships throughout the organization. You never know when someone you don’t know well or whom you have had conflict will be making decisions that will affect your ability to grow in your position.
Earn the respect of everyone in your organization, and you’ll see your career grow.
