You may be the person we have been prayerfully seeking to be our Minister of Adult Education. Are you ready to set in motion the strategies God has given you at our fast-paced, alive and growing, united church body? Our ideal candidate will be eager and excited about this opportunity to be a part of our body’s three-fold purpose to:
1) Exalt the Savior,
2) Equip the Saints, and
3) Evangelize the Lost,
and to teach, lead, and disciple our family of adult believers in its walk with Christ. We desire a highly relational leader, an effective and enthusiastic team player, and a strong mentor with the attention to detail required to develop and implement a system for tracking our adults in their spiritual journey.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
1) Adult Sunday School – oversight and direction
2) Life University – our Wednesday night discipleship program offering multiple
classes (a great place to implement your creativity and vision)
3) Development of a 301 class – a class dealing with “Growing in Christ”
There is a palpable and increasing sense of enthusiasm in our membership as we see God’s Spirit moving in our worship services which typically number approximately 1250 people. This winter we will be adding another Worship Service and Sunday School hour, bringing us to three of each on Sunday mornings. During the past 3 years, we have seen an increase of 450 people in Sunday morning worship.
Our preaching is expository in style with practical life application. We recently finished building a Family Life and Student Center on our 75-acre campus and have a 7-year Building and Debt Pay-Off Campaign beginning in December 2008. We have plans in place for more educational space for both children and adults, as well as a 3,500 seat sanctuary. We recognize that growth is a “God-thing,” and we give Him all the glory and honor for the work He is doing at First Baptist Maryville!
